At 7:00 pm the Clerk called the January Monthly Meeting of the Village of Linwood Board of Trustee’s she also stated that the open meeting act is posted in the hall. Those answering to the roll call were Deb Johnson, Mike Croghan, Susie Matchett and Josh Slonecker. Amber Phillips was absent. Mike Croghan made a motion to appoint Deb Johnson as chairperson for 2021. Susie Matchett seconded the motion. All present board members were in favor with none opposed. The Clerk then turned the meeting over to Deb Johnson. Josh Slonecker made a motion to accept the minutes as read from the December 17, 2020 meetings. Susie Matchett seconded the motion all were in favor with none opposed. January 2021 Bills: Kathy Eaton, clerk fees: $230.87; Will Eaton, maintenance: $200.86; Pekny and Associates, 4th quarter payroll returns and W-2’s: $135.00; Otte Propane, propane for maintenance building: $89.10; BPPD, Electricity: $559.64. Josh Slonecker made a motion to pay the bills, Susie Matchett seconded the motion. All were in favor with none opposed. The clerk presented a form from Menards for the list of who can charge at the Fremont store. The board decided to keep the same three. The Village also received a letter from the insurance writer concerning the policy of Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Reauthorization Act Disclosure. The clerk also received an e-mail from the state auditor informing of the new legislative law in which the clerks are to take continuing education. Either 8 or 4 hours are required depending the expenditures of the entity. Josh Slonecker made a motion to pay for the extra hours after the clerk completes the class hours. Susie Matchett seconded the motion. All were in favor with none opposed. Josh Slonecker made a motion to appoint Jim McDonald the Street superintend/engineer for the Village of Linwood. Susie Matchett seconded the motion. All were in favor with none opposed. It is tabled until the next meeting to discuss Mr. McDonalds pay. The clerk read an e-mail concerning the old dance hall property for the Village Lawyer. Will Eaton said Butler Public Power District was in the Village trimming trees. The power company chipped the limbs so there is wood chips at the burn pile that residents can have if they want. They have to haul. The clerk is to get a hold of the Power company for a street light at Pine and 3rd is out. The next meeting is set for Wednesday February 17th, 2021 to start at 7 pm in the Village Hall. The date has been changed for a couple of board members had a fire department activities they needed to attend. At 7:36 Mike Croghan made a motion to adjourn the meeting Susie Matchett seconded the motion all were in favor, meeting adjourned.
