July 15th, 2021 Meeting Minutes of the Linwood Village Board of Trustee’s
At 7:02 Chairperson Deb Johnson called to order the regular monthly meeting of board of trustee’s. Those answering to roll call were: Deb Johnson, Mike Croghan, Sue Matchett and Amber Phillips. Josh Slonecker was absent. Mike Croghan made a motion to accept the minutes from the June 16th, 2021 meeting as read. Amber Phillips seconded the motion all were in favor with none opposed. The clerk told the board that 5 letters concerning changes in insurance policy wording and covering was received from Continental Western Group, Deb Johnson took them to read them. The clerk read a e-mail from the Nebraska Dept. of Administrative Services. This was about ARPA: Municipal Allocation of Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Funding. Sue Matchett made a motion not to accept the money. Amber Phillips seconded the motion. All were in favor with none opposed. Amber Phillips made a motion to accept the treasurer report dated July 15th, 2021. Mike Croghan seconded the motion all were in favor with none opposed. July 2021 Bills: Kathy Eaton, clerk fees: $230.87; Will Eaton: maintenance, $193.93; Jim Overton, mowing park and maintenance 121.10. Mike Croghan made a motion to pay Jim Overton for maintenance hours at $15.00 per hour. Amber Phillips seconded the motion. All were in favor with none opposed. Sam’s club, July Jam supplies, $98.09; Walmart, July Jam supplies, $6.16; Waste Connections, town cleanup, $373.00; Bomgaars, String Trimmer, $199.99; Pekny and Assoc, 2nd quarter pay roll tax preparation, $55.00; IRS, payroll taxes for 2nd quarter, $465.98; Robert Hermsen, labor to burn pile of brush 2 times, $120.00; BPPD, electricity, $317.56. Susie Matchett made a motion to pay the July bills. Amber Phillips seconded the motion all were in favor with none opposed. Roy Harris came to the board to ask for reimbursement of court cost about the clean up of the old dance hall which was for $113.00. Beings all the board members were not present at meeting it was decided to table until the next meeting. Deb Johnson has been in touch with the state to get reduce speed signs for people come off of , proceeding at high speeds onto Maple Street. July Parade had a great turn out. Will Eaton stated that the town should get in touch of Camp Moses Merrill about that their sign is falling apart and if they would be willing to let the town put up the new “Linwood” Sign on the south of town and the camp put a new one just below the town sign. Deb Johnson is to get in touch with the manager of the camp. The Linwood Volunteer Fire Department wants to replace the sidewalk in front of the station and wanted to know if the town is willing to help with cost. The town needs to come up with a policy so all board present and future board members knows how the town handles the situation. Table till next meeting. No one showed from the rural fire district concerning the cost of repairing the siren. Mike Croghan made a motion to purchase a John Deere tractor from the Federal Surplus of Nebraska origination after Will Eaton looked at it. Amber Phillips seconded the motion all were in favor with none opposed. Sandy Brandl would like some gravel put on 2nd street between Beech and Pine streets. Waiting on gravel bill from Kroeger Gravel.
